Community Outreach
The
doctors and staff of SmilesRForever recognize the
importance of community outreach in promoting good oral
health habits. As such, we are always eager to spend
time with local classrooms to review the fundamentals of
maintaining a healthy smile.
Recently two of our team members, Julie Wise and Pat
Graves, spent some time away from their busy schedules
at our practice to visit with the fourth graders at
Smithton Elementary School in Smithton, Illinois. Julie
and Pat offer considerable dental health expertise
garnered from their years as dental assistants at our
practice.
Using dental models, Julie and Pat demonstrated
proper brushing and flossing techniques. Afterwards, the
fourth graders were given some "hands-on" experience
with the models. Julie and Pat report that the kids did
an awesome job.
To help them continue the good brushing and flossing
practices that they'd learned, each forth grader
received a goodie bag filled with dental products. Some
even won a cool toy for participating.
Julie and Pat both expressed enjoyment with the
opportunity to share good dental health practices with
the fourth graders of Smithton Elementary School. They
expressed their hope that the students at Smithton
Elementary will continue to practice the brushing and
flossing techniques they learned during the dental
assistants' visit.
